February’s Athlete of the Month: Denise MacInnes
Denise has been with us since the very first month we opened August 2014, and I must say the progress she has made over the years is unbelievable. A hard worker, dedicated and determined to push herself beyond her limits! Denise is a great person to be around, just a fun, nice, lovable human! Congratulations Denise, hard work pays off! Here is what she has to say about her CrossFit experience so far:
“I have been running and spinning for many years and never into weights or strength training. One day when driving to an all women’s gym (which I didn’t like) I noticed a sign “Coming soon 128 Crossfit” know nothing about Crossfit but curious I finally got up the nerve to stop in, only to be met by Danielle and her intimidating quads. But rather than a tour she had me jump into a class that was just starting with the words “YOU’LL BE FINE” and this is how my crossfit journey began.
Crossfit has been life changing in many different ways. Danielle, Suzie and Adam have shown me that I can do things that I never knew I could. Even when you hit a wall they are there to encourage you through the toughest WOD’s. I feel so fortunate to have made so many friendships here. Crossfit has become my 2nd family.”
